Wisnu Auri had the solo exhibition Anxiously Awaiting Your Response.

A worldwide email network allows people to exchange messages very quickly. While a letter normally takes a day to a couple of weeks to be delivered, an email is
its electronic equivalent, highly preferable for its timeliness and flexibility. Boasting a wide variety of usages, from personal correspondence, promotions, and publications, to businesses, it has invariably replaced physical postal letters as a choice for written correspondence as we embrace a digital era.

Our reliance on typing and texting has rendered letter-writing obsolete, as postal letters become artefacts, memories to be treasured — something from a bygone era.

Auri examines this shifting momentum of physical to digital communication, and associates them with objects available around him, then converts and deciphers them through his emotions into his paintings. Everyone collects something, and to Auri right now, they are closing email phrases, as he attempts to rebuild a romantic experience of physically written correspondence and translate these phrases into his brush strokes.
